Kick-Off Redevelopment of SK Sg. Buloh, Selangau, Sarawak

SIBU: Musyati Mudajaya JV has taken the first step of being an exemplary company that is involved in doing the works package contracts (WPC) of the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak (PBHS) to rebuild a dilapidated school SK Sg Buloh in Selangau.

Works Minister, Baru Bian said what Musyati Mudajaya JV has done is exemplary.

“But I don’t expect just WPC but also big corporations to come forward too. I urge them to come forward to assist as well to do a big project for our people,” said Baru, who is also Selangau MP.

He suggested that each WPC adopt one school for their corporate social responsibility (CSR) project.

“Each one of the WPC will take one school, so this is the first one that has been identified, so SK Sg Buloh is privileged to be among the 11 WPCs constructed throughout Sarawak.

“Each one of the WPC will take one school so this is the first one that has been identified and Musyati Mudajaya JV has taken this first step of CSR,” he said when met after the Earth Breaking Ceremony at SK Sg Buloh here.

SK Sg Buloh was built in 1957 and is one of the most dilapidated schools in the area.

It is located in the vicinity of the construction of WPC No. 8 Sg Kua Bridge to Sg Arip Bridge which is 63.678 kilometres in length and Sg Kua-Sg Buloh is under the section of Selangau.

Baru said that he would expect the other 10 WPC to follow suit.

“They (WPC) can pick up whichever school that they feel that they want to contribute to.

Baru joined the Jelajah FT Roadpedia which is into its final day running since last Saturday, which kicked off from Works Package Contracts (WPC) 01 Sematan-Telok Melano.

Joining the three-day road trip are officials from Ministry of Works (MOW) Malaysia, as well as officials from Sarawak’s Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Transportation (MIDT), Public Works Department of Sarawak (JKR) and Project Delivery Partner for PBHS, which is Lebuhraya Borneo Utara (LBU).
